About the Fire Department

The Oak Creek Fire Department is an All Hazards department that protects the citizens, visitors and properties within the City of Oak Creek.  The Department has 55 employees (53 uniformed/career staff and 2 civilian staff) who provide services 24 hours a day from each of the three fire stations.

The Oak Creek Fire Department provides the following emergency services:

  • Fire suppression: structural and mobile property
  • Rescue: extrication, confined space awareness, technical rescue services and support
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS): care and transport both at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) level
  • Hazardous materials response: operations level services
  • Specialized services: foam trailer, tactical emergency medical support (TEMS) team

In addition to providing emergency services to the community, the department also provides a variety of programs aimed at preventing and/or reducing the impact of emergency events. These programs include:

Additionally, the Fire Chief of the Oak Creek Fire Department serves as the Emergency Management Director for the city.  The Chief and his designee's direct the activities associated with maintaining the city's emergency management capabilities; both locally and regionally.
