Born and raised in Oak Creek, Chris Guzikowski, our newly-elected 6th District Alderman, was a member of the very first kindergarten class at Shepard Hills Elementary, and is a brother-in-law to former Oak Creek Mayor Dale Richards. With that background, it’s no surprise he was willing to serve as an elected official.
“For me life is about service, whether that is for the City of Oak Creek, or for my church (St. Stephens) it’s important that I give back to the community, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I decided to run for office,” Chris said. Chris, an Air Force veteran, said recognizing and honoring those who served is a key platform of his service as an elected official, and he would like to partner with the School District to increase the awareness of the importance of the military in both our past and our future.
Married to Colleen, who is a teacher at East Middle School in Oak Creek, with three daughters, Alyssa (23), Carley (20), and Lauren (17), their family is active in the community and can be frequently seen attending both civic and school-related events. Chris is a Quality Control Supervisor for Western Envelope Company, primarily working in sales and with wholesale customers.
Since his swearing-in Chris has also been named to the Oak Creek Plan Commission, the Finance and Capitol Improvements Committee, and the newly established Landscape and Beautification Committee, which will enhance the green spaces in the city. He also served as the owner’s representative for the construction of St. Stephen’s new building on West Oakwood Road.
“I look forward to seeing all the projects in Oak Creek take shape, we have a bright future ahead of us,” Chris said, highlighting the recent groundbreaking ceremony at the Drexel Town Square development.
