City Launches New Citizens Request for Action Online Module

Recycling Yard

The yard is open to all occupants of a residence or dwelling unit for which the occupant receives an individual property tax bill issued by the City of Oak Creek.

Spring & Fall Clean-ups

Clean-ups are held beginning on May 15th and November 15th each year. If the 15th falls on the weekend, it will begin the following Monday. These clean-ups are free of charge.

Special Pick-ups

In addition to the spring and fall clean-ups that are provided at no charge, the city provides special pick-ups for a fee of $25. This fee must be pre-paid in order to be put on the schedule for pick-up.

The City does NOT pick up leaves curbside. In addition, Ordinance #1984 prohibits residents from placing leaves in the streets, alleys or sidewalk areas. Residents may dispose of their leaves at the recycling yard during normal recycling yard hours. If you have any questions, call the Department of Public Works at (414) 570-5682.

Branch Pick-ups

Branches are picked up beginning May 1st, July 1st, September 1st & November 1st each year. Branches must be stacked at curb or roadside prior to these dates to be guaranteed a pick-up but no earlier then 2 weeks prior.

Grass Clippings

Grass clippings, including thatch, are NOT accepted by the City. Grass clippings should be composted or mulched directly back into your lawn. Sod can be brought into the recycling yard. If you have any questions, call the Department of Public Works at (414) 570-5682.


Mulch is often available for free pick-up at the recycling yard. Residents may call to be put on a list to have mulch delivered to their homes for $25 a load (4-5 yards). If you have any questions, call the Department of Public Works at (414) 570-5682.

USAgain Bin at Recycling Yard

USAgain now has a bin located at the Oak Creek Recycling Yard at 720 W. Puetz Road for collection of usable textiles. Recycling Yard Hours are Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Carts for newly constructed homes may be obtained by calling Advanced Disposal at (262) 679-0860. Please place your carts on the opposite corners of your driveway approach with the arrows on the lid pointing toward the street.

Road Care Responsibilities
