2009 City Celebrations - Schedule of Events


Outdoor Concert Series

The concerts are back! So get ready with your lawn chairs and picnic baskets...!
The free evening summer concerts will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Oak Creek Community Center grounds, 8580 S. Howell Ave., rain or shine.

  • Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 - Crossfire
    This four piece band is a blend of older and current country favorites. The members have played together for quite sometime and the vocal harmonies show it. You'll enjoy all of your favorites when you see Crossfire.
  • Wednesday, June 24th, 2009 - Opan Jii
    An Evening of Smooth, Contemporary and Latin Jazz from an Award Winning Group.
  • Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 - Pat McCurdy
    The wild and wacky entertainer is back by popular demand.
  • Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009 - Speakeasy
    A top 40 pop, rock & R&B showband. This WAMI award winning group features female vocals as well as male vocals and is augmented by a three piece horn section and a well seasoned energetic rhythm section. Speakeasy brings you live music they way you crave it!
  • Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 - Wilson Knights
    Join us for an evening of indoor entertainment by putting on your dancing shoes on for a night of swing.
  • Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 - Piles of Rhythm
    Sing along and dance to the best songs of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. We are bring back Piles of Rhythm for a fantastic evening of fun and to end our concert series for 2009.

Pig & Chicken Roast

Sunday September 13th starting at noon brings the annual Pig and Chicken Roast to Oak Creek’s very own Miller Park. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to enjoy the afternoon full of:

  • Great Food
  • Live Music by Becca & The Boys
  • Car Show - Hot Rods & Classic Cars
  • Kids Games

Tickets are $4.00 adults and $1.00 for kids available at Oak Creek City Hall and The Oak Creek Community Center.


Halloween Trick-or-Treat

Sunday, October 25th Oak Creek’s Historical Society on the corner of E. Forest Hill and 15th Ave is the location for the “Halloween Safe Site”. From 4pm – 6pm bring all the little goblins and ghosts out for Free candy and cider.

City Trick or Treat time is also scheduled for Sunday, October 25th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.


Veteran's Day

Saturday, November 7th starting at 9:00 am on the corner of 6th and Rawson at the Veterans Memorial Park. This year's focus will be community support for our military and our veterans. A ceremony will be followed by refreshments at Fire Station #3.


Christmas Tree Lighting

Bring the kids and join us in lighting the Christmas Tree on Sunday, December 6th at 5:00 pm.



We would appreciate your input on the events that we have planned for 2009. If you have any new events that you would like to see the City sponsor, please let us know.

We also need volunteers to help with the planning and running of these events. Consider giving your time to help make these events successful.
