The DNR issued a press release on January 24th advising private well owners in SE Wisconsin (including Oak Creek) to have their water tested for Molybdenum. This does not apply to residents on the City’s municipal water supply. In addition, the DNR has advised WI residents not to drink ground water which exceeds the the molybdenum standard of 40 ug/L.... Child Immunizations

DUE TO A CHANGE IN FEDERAL POLICY, AS OF 10/01/2012, individuals whose insurance covers immunizations will not be able to be immunized with state‐supplied vaccine at local health departments. Exceptions to the policy will be pertussis-containing vaccines (because of the current statewide outbreak in WI) and influenza vaccine, for this influenza season. If you have any questions please call the Health Department at 768-6539.

If You or Someone You Love is Diabetic

On October 25, 2011, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that all previously unvaccinated adults aged 19 through 59 years with diabetes mellitus (type 1 and type 2) be vaccinated against hepatitis B as soon as possible after a diagnosis of diabetes is made. Unvaccinated adults aged 60+ years with diabetes may be vaccinated at the discretion of the treating clinician after assessing their risk and the likelihood of an adequate immune response to vaccination.
