Recommendation: That the Council adopt Resolution No. 10879-061708, authorizing the execution of an agreement with Milwaukee County relative to the City’s continued participation in the Community Development Block Grant Program for the program years 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Background: Milwaukee County administers the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) for the municipalities (excluding Milwaukee and West Allis) within the County on behalf of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

As part of their administration of the program, the County enters into cooperation agreements with each of the municipalities it serves. This 3-year agreement is for the program years 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Fiscal Impact: The use of CDBG funds reduces the amount of funding the City has to provide through the annual budget to provide these same levels of service.
