Welcome to the City of Oak Creek Clerk page. The City Clerk’s Office is dedicated to represent democracy by ensuring the integrity of open government and the election process by enhancing open, fair, impartial and trusted government. The City Clerk’s Office maintains all records, legal documents, official files and legislative action of the City.
The Department is also responsible for the preparation of Agendas, Ordinances, Resolutions, and Proclamations for consideration and approval by the Common Council. Various licenses and permits fall under the realm of the City Clerk are issued in accordance with Federal Law and State Statues. The Office is committed to the implementation of the election process in accordance with Federal Law and State Statures and policy, while delivering election services that meet the voter’s needs and are deliver fairly, impartially, transparent and accurately. The Clerk’s Office ensure the preparation of legal notice for publication and posting, also recording and filing items with various State and County agencies. The Clerk’s office implements the Open Records Law, while providing information to the public and performing the duties required by the Wisconsin State Statutes.
The City Clerk’s office serves as a link between the citizens of this community and the Mayor and Common Council. We are also considered the hub of information wheel. We’re here to serve you. The City of Oak Creek is divided into six aldermanic (voting) districts based upon the latest census information, ensuring an even distribution of the population within each district. Each district is then divided into individual wards, which are combined for voting purposes at this time. As the City grows in the future, Oak Creek will be required to separate wards within each district (polling location). [ more election information ]

Important Dates for 2013 are as follows:
January 1: All property is assessed as it existed on January 1
May - September: Board of Review meets when Roll is completed
Summer: Assessment Roll is closed for the year

The City Clerk's Office serves as a document and information resource to the Council, all City departments, and the citizens of our city. The City Clerk maintains custody, control, filing and storage of all legislation, books, papers, agendas, minutes and other written and recorded documents and materials pertaining to the operation of City government.
