Basic Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment
• Must have at least 60 college credits from accredited college by January 1, 2011
• Must qualify to bear firearms (no felony convictions per Wisc. Statute 941.29)
• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship (upon request)
• Posses unrestricted Wisconsin driver’s license at time of hire (except for vision)
• Must pass a hearing and vision test
• Must successfully complete the application process
• Must comply with city residency rules per contract (reside within 20 miles of the city limits) within 1 year of completing probationary period and remain in compliance throughout city employment
