The City will soon have a new business that calls Oak Creek home. Earlier this summer, the Oak Creek Plan Commission approved site and building plans submitted by Suzy’s Cream Cheesecakes Inc. for renovations to an existing building located at 9911 S. Howell Avenue. The previously vacant 44,200 square-foot structure sits on just over three acres of land on Oak Creek’s south side.

According to Oak Creek Planner Kari Papelbon, Suzy’s Cream Cheesecakes approached the city in December of 2013 about a possible move of their office, production, and distribution operations to the city. The need to expand and update operations were major factors in their decision to relocate.  Renovations to the existing structure will consist primarily of internal modifications, but a new 2-foot-wide stone area around the perimeter of the building and a new sidewalk along the northern portion of the building will be included as well.

Suzy’s, which currently employs approximately 50 workers at their St. Francis location, will expand their workforce to approximately 90 workers over three shifts in their new Oak Creek facility.

According to their website, Suzy’s Cream Cheesecakes offer a limited selection of desserts for retail pickup in their St. Francis store at 1775 E. Bolivar Avenue. Cheesecakes and other desserts can also be purchased online at Nueskes.com.
