On February 4, 2014, the Common Council approved an application for a Run/Walk license to Ragnar Events for the Ragnar Relay Chicago 2014 race, a benefit for local charities, to be held on June 6, 2014 thru June 7, 2014.

There are 500 anticipated teams participating in the Ragnar Relay Chicago 2014.  Each team is comprised of 12 individuals and two transport vans.  Since the race is a relay, only one person from each team will be running on the course at one time (the rest of the team will be riding in the vans).

The first runners will start in Madison, Wisconsin on June 6, 2014, at 5:30 a.m. and the last runners at 4:00 p.m.  Runners are anticipated to enter the City of Oak Creek around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, with the last runners to leave the City by 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014.

The race course typically follows sidewalks, running paths, bike lanes and road shoulders. No lane closures are anticipated.  All participants are required to wear reflective vests, headlamps and LED lights during the nighttime hours.  Runners are required to obey all traffic laws and stay with the normal flow of pedestrian traffic.
