City of Oak Creek Receives Significant Grant for Road ProjectShare This +
The City has been awarded Surface Transportation Project (STP) grant funding in the amount of $2,781,040 for its 5th Avenue relocation project. The project is a new road extension that will be an urban section roadway with storm sewer, curb & gutter, medians, on-street bicycle accommodations, sidewalks and street lighting. It will include a new quiet zone railroad crossing. It will complete the east leg of the Chicago Road/Ryan Road intersection and extend northeasterly to a new intersection at 5th Avenue/Ryan Road. STP grant funding was made possible through extraordinary coordination efforts by WisDOT, SEWRPC and the SE Wisconsin Transportation Improvement Committee; and by three other municipal agencies cooperatively deferring their funding until a subsequent funding cycle.
