Around the Town with Mayor Steve: A New Feature: Q&A with the Mayor

City Updates | General | Mayor & Council |

I’m launching a new feature next month that will make it easier for every resident to get up to the minute information on what’s happening in and around Oak Creek. Beginning in September, Q&A with the Mayor will allow you to ask any question on any issue or concern related to city events, development, or our day-to-day operations.

I’ll provide an answer, along with your first name and last initial, on our city website and our social media pages. If I don’t know the answer I’ll reach out to city administration, department heads, or staff to find out.  Simply submit your question to my city email at and I’ll post the questions and answers as soon as I can.

Here's an example:

Q:   What’s going on with 13th Street? It seems like the recent patches between Rawson and Drexel Avenues have made the situation worse.

A:    13th Street is a County Highway, and as anyone who has traveled it knows, it’s not in very good shape. The good news is in early September the County will be re-paving that stretch, which should improve the ride considerably. In a few years, the entire stretch of 13th Street will be reconstructed, similar to what we now see on 13th Street between Rawson and College.

So start thinking of your questions and you’ll start seeing some answers in September!
