Rubbish Collection News
Effective July 1, 2004, the City of Oak Creek will provide refuse carts to all Oak Creek residents. If residents would like additional refuse carts, the cost is as follows:
35 Gallon Cart --- $33.53
65 Gallon Cart --- $36.43
95 Gallon Cart --- $54.20
If residents would like to exchange their current 95 gallon cart for a smaller one, please contact the Street Department at 570-5682.
New Residents
Please contact the Street Department to have a garbage cart and recycling cart delivered to your residence. For garbage and recycling collection times, please see the garbage schedule.
Spring/Fall Clean-ups
Clean-ups are held twice every year, on May 15th and November 15th. Items must be at the curb or roadside prior to the 15th in order to be guaranteed a pick-up.
Items that will be picked up are as follows:
- Yard Waste; excluding leaves and grass
- Furniture
- Wood
- Appliances
- Construction Materials; not from a contractor
- Metal
- Mattresses
- Televisions
- Carpeting/Rugs
| Items that will not be picked up are as follows:
- Paints
- Tires
- Batteries
- Hazardous Materials
- Grass Clippings
- Leaves
- Brush

Special Pick-ups
Outside of the two clean-up dates, the City will not pick-up larger scale refuse items on regular garbage collection days. You may drop them off at the recycle center or call to schedule a special pick-up for a cost of $15.00. Items that qualify for a special pick up are as follows: Appliances, Furniture, Metal, Televisions, Swimming Pools, Mattresses, and Carpeting,
Mulch
When mulch becomes available during the summer months, residents may call the Street Department and be placed on a list to receive a load for a cost of $10.00. Please call the Street Division for availability and/or to be added to the list.
Branch Pick-up
Branches will be picked up only during the following months:
April, June, August, and October.
Branches must be brought to the curb or roadside by the first of the month and be in a pile with the cut wooded portion facing the street. Stumps should not exceed approximately 3-feet in width.
Freon Appliances
Effective July 1, 2004 freon appliances including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, may be collected as a special pick up provided that the owner prepays a $15.00 per appliance fee. This fee also applies if residence is bringing freon appliances to the drop off site. Doors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers whether appliances are being brought to the drop off site or picked up curb side.
