Abendschein Community Park-Park Facilities for Phase 1 Development-Review & Take Action

Steve Wilding asked who designed the Abendschein Park plan and if there was any citizen involved in the plan.  The Director stated that the plan is an update of the original plan developed in 2000 which included public input but was never developed.  The Commission felt the City still has the same needs and are putting more prioritization on the softball fields relocation because of the loss of the diamonds at East Middle School.  The Director explained to Mr. Wilding the facilities that are projected to be in Abendschein Park and that citizen input was included in the original plan.

The Commission discussed proposed park facilities and some Phase 1 Development alternatives.

They decided to postpone any further action regarding Abendschein Park Phase 1 facility development for another month.  Hopefully the City and School District can discuss the possibility of locating the Skate Park at the East Middle School site.  The Director was instructed to look into the feasibility of developing the proposed Abendschein park facilities.  This information will be presented to the Commission at their February meeting.
