Roll Call: The meeting of the Ad-Hoc Joint Library Exploratory Committee was called to order by City Librarian Ross M. Talis on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 9:35 a.m. Those in attendance in addition to Talis were Dennis Havey, President of the Oak Creek Public Library Board, Julie Joosten and Sue Kaczmarek, Assistant City Librarian. Also in attendance were Patrick DeGrave, City Administrator and Stefanie Scott, Community Newspapers.
Committee’s Charge: City Administrator Patrick DeGrave spoke on behalf of Mayor Dick Bolender and defined the mission of the committee.
Future Meeting Schedule: A list of dates for future meetings was distributed to committee members. Future meetings will be held with the Milwaukee Area Technical College committee the second and fourth Thursdays of the month beginning October 11th through January, 2008. Anticipated meeting length will be one and one half hours. The next Ad-Hoc committee meeting will be on Thursday, October 4th at 9:30 a.m.
Items for Discussion: Group members discussed items for discussion in future meetings. A list of existing joint public/school libraries will be forwarded to the members.
Timeline for Completion: Ideally, the committees should conclude their work within six to eight months.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 10:40 a.m.
