MINUTES OF THE

OAK CREEK PLAN COMMISSION MEETING

TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 2007

Mayor Bolender called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  The following Commissioners were present at roll call: Commissioner Dickmann, Commissioner St. John, Commissioner Sokol, Commissioner Siira, Commissioner Kopplin, Mayor Bolender, Commissioner Grabowski, Commissioner Correll and Commissioner Nowak.  Also present were Jeff Fortin, Planner, and Assistant Fire Chief George Krudop.

Plan Review – The Gathering
8825 S. Howell Avenue

Mr. Fortin explained to the Commission at the March 6, 2007 Common Council meeting a CSM dividing the properties 8825 S. Howell Avenue and 155 W. Sunnyview Drive was approved subject to the applicant completing the site improvements in accordance with the general development plan and finishing the temporary wall at the west side of the building. 

Staff indicated that the applicant had submitted a revised elevation which featured brick along the entire first floor length of the west elevation and the vinyl siding on the rest of the elevation.  There would also be three (3) windows to break up the large wall. 

Commissioner Siira indicated that he was concerned with how the brick and siding would look with the proposed flashing materials.  Commissioner St. John commented he would prefer to see the vinyl eliminated from the building and have them use stucco and brick on the back wall. 

Commissioner Dickmann moved that the Plan Commission approves the building elevation plans for the Gathering building subject to the following conditions:

  1. That all work must be completed by August 31, 2007
  2. That the elevation drawings are amended to incorporate the following:
    1. Elimination of the false gable.
    2. Addition of a brick band along the entire length of the first story wall on the west façade.
  3. That all building and fire codes are met.

Roll call, Dickmann; aye, St. John; nay, Sokol; aye, Siira; aye, Kopplin; aye, Bolender; aye, Grabowski; aye, Correll; aye, Nowak; aye.  The motion to approve carries.
