Item No. 3 – To consider a request for permission to fill a police lieutenant vacancy.
Chief Bauer was present to request permission to fill a police lieutenant vacancy created by an upcoming retirement. His request also included per mission to fill subsequent vacancies that may be created by the promotion of a lieutenant, to advise the candidate of their selection immediately after the police and fire commission makes their choice, and to promote in time for a 30 day shadowing period with the retiring lieutenant.
