MINUTES
SMALL CLAIMS COMMITTEE
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2007, 8:00 A.M.
- This meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.
- Present were Mayor Bolender and City Clerk Beverly Buretta; Ald. Foeckler was excused. Also present were Street Superintendent Mike Lampe, Street Supervisor David Laehn, Police Chief Tom Bauer and Weed Commissioner Brent Conley.
- A review of the following claims resulted in the following actions:
- City Clerk Buretta, seconded by Mayor Bolender, moved to deny the claim filed by Opus North Corporation, 135 S. 84th St., Milwaukee, in the amount of $1,000.00 relating to the removal and replacement of a curb section on the Opus Dr. extension.
Both voted aye; motion carried.
- City Clerk Buretta, seconded by Mayor Bolender, moved to deny the claim filed by Anton Doll, 3904 E. High St., for reimbursement of medical costs incurred as a result of a police incident that occurred on 9/1/07 during Lions Fest in the approximate amount of $1,111.33. Both voted aye; motion carried.
- City Clerk Buretta, seconded by Mayor Bolender, moved to deny the claim filed by Joyce Lecus, 3904 E. High St., for reimbursement of medical costs incurred as a result of a police incident that occurred on 9/1/07 during Lions Fest in the approximate amount of $715.90. Both voted aye; motion carried.
- City Clerk Buretta, seconded by Mayor Bolender, moved to deny the claim filed by John Rapant, 6075 E. Elaine Ave., Cudahy, disputing a Street Department invoice in the amount of $1,595.00 for repairs to rafters in the salt shed caused when Rapant was unloading salt with his dump truck in February of 2007. Both voted aye; motion carried.
- City Clerk Buretta, seconded by Mayor Bolender, moved to deny the claim filed by Otto Satula, Mini-Rentals, Inc., 400 E. Oak St., for a waiver of weed-cutting charges in the amount of $376.20. Both voted aye; motion carried.
