Civil Service Commission
Monday, October 1, 2007
- The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
- Present were John Przybyla, Brad Evans, Sharon Wiorek, Paul Kortman, and Marie Kreif. Also in attendance was Dispatch Unit Manager Rebecca Leigh.
- Review and approve minutes from previous meetings
- B. Evans, seconded by J. Przybyla, made a motion to approve the minutes of August 30, 2007. All aye; motion carried.
- The Commission entered executive session at 5:05 p.m. pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes, Section 19.85(1)(c) to review applications to Emergency Services Dispatcher.
- Ms. Leigh informed the Commission that a total of 64 applications were received.
- The Civil Service Commission reviewed the applications that were considered “rejected” based on Police Department staff’s review, which resulted in 37 applications being considered acceptable. Those 37 applicants will be invited to the typing exam on October 10, which will be overseen by Commissioners Wiorek and Przybyla. Ms. Leigh also provided the commissioners with a Dispatch Hiring Process Timeline document. After the typing exam, the next step will be the written exam and personnel evaluation profile on October 20, which will be overseen by Commissioners Potter, Evans and Kortman.
