BOARD OF HEALTH
June 14, 2006 @ 4:30 P.M.
City of Oak Creek City Hall – Common Council Chambers
- Roll Call: Called to Order by S. Wojcinski at 4:42 PM.
- Present: S. Wojcinski, J. DeVita, Dr. M. D’Amico, S. Schneider, M. Zabkowicz, L. Struhar
- Excused: J. Alles
- Absent: Ald. B. Kopplin
- Approval of Minutes – April 12, 2006, meeting. Motion by S. Schneider, seconded by Dr. D’Amico, and approved as written.
- Correspondence
- Interim Health Officer’s Report – as written plus updated amendment to Pandemic Flu Consolidated contract.
- City Sanitarian Report – Inspections completed and coordinated for license renewal. Has noted marked improvement with areas of concern.
- Medical Advisor Report – MMR–Mumps vaccine for 4-6 year olds. Discussed limited supply of Menactra. Oak Creek Health Department is not administering at this time. Unsure regarding re-sale if not utilized; will research.
- Council Representative Report – no report.
- Old Business
- Update on Larvicide Permit
- Staff Issues/Status
- Motion by L.Struhar, seconded by Dr. D’Amico, to eliminate city residency to enhance applicants and explore alternative Health Officer qualifications for the position.
- Sanitarian – clarification of June 20th meeting time at 6:30 p.m..
- New Business
- Review of Status – School Health Services. Assistance requested with orientation of high school health aide, since this position was eliminated from our reimbursed services.
- Election of Vice-chairman tabled.
- Larvicide – discussed new requirements – to pursue addressing parks/retention ponds/ stagnant water and review City ordinance. Check with Planning, Engineering, Inspection with previous developments of new subdivision plan to eliminate stagnant water.
- WAHLDAB; Legislative Agenda Survey
- Next Meeting: August 13, 2006, @ 4:30PM or at call of chair.
- Adjournment. Motion by Dr. D’Amico, seconded by L. Struhar, and approved to adjourn at 5:43 PM.
