MINUTES
CITY OF OAK CREEK AD HOC COMMITTEE ON
FACILITY SPACE NEEDS
TUESDAY, June 6, 2006, 6:30 PM
- This meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m.
- Present were Committee members: Fred Siepert, Frank Carini, Isabel Haase, and Cal Nowak. Mike O’Brien arrived at 6:40 p.m.
- Staff present were: Facilities Manager Dick Kulka; Information Technology Manager Caesar Geiger and Personnel Specialist Marie Kreif.
- The minutes of May 16 required additional information and will be on the next agenda for approval.
- Chairman Siepert reiterated from the May 16th minutes (item 3) that the committee’s goal is to evaluate and consider alternatives to meet the city’s future needs.
- The committee reviewed the findings of their tour of city hall, the library and fire station 1 and felt that a Powerpoint presentation to Council showing the current conditions of these buildings was warranted. The group discussed the idea of inviting the three companies that submitted RFPs to a future committee meeting so that their ideas could be presented in person.
- The committee decided to split into smaller sub-groups and meet with representatives of the various sites to discuss needs in greater detail. Assignments were as follows: E. Siira and F. Carini will research city hall. M. O’Brien and C. Nowak will research the Library. I. Haase and J. Johnson will research Fire Station #1. F. Siepert already has a working knowledge of the Community Center and would provide additional information on that site since it plays into the growth and expansion of the city. These sub-groups will meet with representatives of the various sites and report back with their findings at the July 18th meeting.
- M. O’Brien, seconded by I. Haase, moved to adjourn this meeting at 8:00 p.m. All voted aye.
