MINUTES
CITY OF OAK CREEK AD HOC COMMITTEE ON
FACILITY SPACE NEEDS
Tuesday, December 19, 2006, 6:30 PM
- This meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
- Present were Committee members: Fred Siepert, Isabel Haase, Mike O’Brien, Frank Carini, and Ed Siira.
- Staff present: Information Technology Manager Caesar Geiger, Facilities Maintenance Manager Dick Kulka, and Personnel Specialist Marie Kreif.
- Also present was Sam Lenda.
- E. Siira made a motion to approve the minutes of November 21. F. Carini seconded the motion. All aye; motion carried.
- Review information obtained on:
- City Hall
- Library
- Fire Station #1
- The group discussed the following approach in making their presentation to Council:
- Intro/”letter” from Mayor
- Steps the committee took (in sub-groups)
- input from staff
- physical tours of facilities
- reported back to the group/compiled data
- Considerations for each building
- history/factual data
- current status (photos)
- needs/barriers (current & future)
- potential costs (?)
- Conclusions/recommendations
- Formation of steering committee/next step?
The discussion included the fact that the Armory will likely not be available for purchase, which downsized the project scope, and this year’s budget discussions included possible relocation of a fire station. The group also considered the idea that some people think of City Hall as the “city center”.
- M. O’Brien, seconded by I. Haase, moved to adjourn this meeting at 7:30 p.m. All voted aye.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, January 16.
