The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance being said by all present.
Mayor Bolender called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. On roll call, the following aldermen were present: Ald. Kopplin, Ald. Foeckler, Ald. Lampe, Ald. Toman, and Ald. Grabowski. Ald. Jonas was absent. Also present were: City Attorney Lawrence Haskin, Director of Community Development Douglas Seymour, City Engineer Wayne St. John, Acting Fire Chief George Krudop, Assistant Fire Chief Thomas Rosandich, Police Chief Thomas Bauer, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Douglas Schachtner, Facilities Manager Richard Kulka, Finance Manager RoseAnn Underberg, and City Clerk Beverly Buretta.
1. Paul M. Thompson, Senior Vice President of Hutchinson, Shockey, Erley & Co., made a presentation to the Council on potential bond issuance for city buildings and on related fiscal information.
2. Council discussion was held on the potential redevelopment of the property at 8640 S. Howell Ave.
3. Ald. Lampe, seconded by Ald. Toman, moved to authorize staff to release a request for proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of the property at 8640 S. Howell Ave. On roll call, the vote was as follows: Ald. Kopplin, aye; Ald. Foeckler, aye; Ald. Lampe, aye; Ald. Toman, aye; and Ald. Grabowski, no. (The final RFP document will be brought forward to the Council meeting of 1/17/06 prior to issuance.)
4. No action was taken after a discussion on the establishment of an ad hoc committee to review potential space needs and relocation needs for the City Hall complex.
Ald. Kopplin, seconded by Ald. Grabowski, moved to adjourn this meeting at 8:35 p.m. All voted aye; motion carried.
