THURSDAY, AUGUST 4, 2005, 6:30 P.M.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance being said by all present.
Mayor Bolender called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. On roll call, the following aldermen were present: Ald. Kopplin, Ald. Foeckler, Ald. Lampe, Ald. Toman, Ald. Grabowski, and Ald. Jonas. Also present was: Deputy City Clerk Pam Bauer.
1. Mayor Bolender made his opening remarks and established “ground rules” for the Common Council, candidates, and audience for the presentation by the three finalists to provide professional placement services in the search for a City Administrator.
2. Presentations were made by the following firms to provide professional placement services in the search for a City Administrator, as randomly selected:
a. Public Administration Associates, Oshkosh, WI
b. Springsted, Incorporated, St. Paul, MN
c. Virchow, Krause & Company, LLP, Milwaukee, WI
3. A five-minute recess was held between 7:40 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. to allow interested parties to return to the meeting room.
4. There was no discussion by the Council of the presentations.
5. Mayor Bolender requested each alderperson cast their recommendation by paper ballot. A tally was made of the votes cast and Virchow Krause & Company, LLP received three (3) votes; Springsted, Incorporated, received two (2) votes and Public Administration Associates received one (1) vote. Mayor Bolender agreed with the recommendation to appoint Virchow Krause & Company. Ald. Foeckler, seconded by Ald. Grabowski, moved to concur with the Mayor’s appointment of Virchow Krause & Company, LLP to provide professional placement services in the search for a City Administrator. On roll call, the vote was as follows: Ald. Kopplin, aye; Ald. Foeckler, aye; Ald. Lampe, aye; Ald. Toman, no; Ald. Grabowski, aye; and Ald. Jonas, aye.
Ald. Lampe, seconded by Ald. Grabowski, moved to adjourn this meeting at 7:51 p.m. All voted aye; motion carried.
