TRAFFIC AND SAFETY COMMISSION

 

October 12, 2005

 

Municipal Court Room-Oak Creek Police Station

 

1)         Members in Attendance

 

George Artka, Tom Rosandich, Michael Helgeson, Cliff Nelson, Mike Lampe and Henry Jackson were present. Alderman Steve Jonas and David Schneider were excused.  

 

2)         Review of Minutes

 

Motion by Cliff Nelson and seconded by Mike Lampe to approve the minutes of September 14, 2005. Motion passed.

 

3)               Old Business

 

A.               Cited WisDOT letter were they agree to study our request for speed reduction on S. Howell Ave., between Oak Leaf Drive and Forest Hill Avenue.  .

 

4)               New Business

 

A.     Request for No Left Turn Signs from 3:30-5:30 pm on W. Violet Drive from W. Puetz Road.

 

Motion made by George Artka and seconded by Mike Lampe to install said signs with “except busses” , if allowed. Discussion and input from residents ensued. Motion passed.

 

B.     Request for stop signs on S. Shepard Avenue at the intersection of E. Bridlewood Lane to create a 4-way stop.

 

                  Request held for further information on pedestrian counts.

 

C.    Request for stop signs on E. Puetz Road at the intersection of S. Shepard Avenue to create a 4-way stop

 

Motion made by Tom Rosandich and seconded by Michael Helgeson to deny the request for a four-way stop at S. Shepard and E. Puetz road. Motion passed.

D.    Request for a Deaf Child Area sign at 8635 S. Golden Fields Drive.

 

Motion by Tom Rosandich and seconded by Mike Lampe to install Deaf Child Area sign at 8636 S. Golden Field Dr. Motion passed. 

 

E.     Request for WisDOT to replace or install fold down stop signs at all signalized intersections.

 

Motion by Michael Helgeson and seconded by George Artka to request WisDOT to install fold down signs at signalized intersections. Motion passed.

           

5)               Adjournment

 

Motion by Tom Rosandich and seconded by Mike Lampe to adjourn.  Motion passed.
