CITY OF OAK CREEK PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY COMMISSION

Present: Alderperson Ann Lampe, Paul Sigler, Sandra Herte, Janet Fluegel, Marianne Dickmann and Jennifer Wimmer
Absent: Dan Jahn and Greg Lampe
The Oak Creek Parks, Recreation & Forestry Commission meeting was held at the Oak Creek City Hall, Solarium Conference Room, 8640 S. Howell Avenue, Oak Creek, WI, on Thursday, April 8, 2004. Chairperson Janet Fluegel called the meeting to order at 6:08 PM.
The minutes from the March 11, 2004, meeting was approved on a motion made by Jennifer Wimmer and seconded by Ann Lampe. All aye; motion carried.
The financial statements and claims for the month of March were approved on a motion made by Paul Sigler and seconded by Marianne Dickmann. All aye; motion carried.
PROPOSED SKATE PARK UPDATE: INFORMATIONAL
Jeff Huber stated that he has received proposals from three of the seven requests he sent out and will be dropping them off in the near future. Once the proposals are received, John Finco and the Director will meet and organize committee meetings
PARK DEVELOPMENT-UPDATE 2004 CIP/CEP PROJECTS-INFORMATIONAL
The House of Correction in Franklin does not have enough fish for the fish stocking program this year, but they put Miller Pond on their waiting list.
The Common Council did approve the Howell Avenue median tree planting project.
MILLER PARK PAVILION FLOORING-RUBBERIZED FLOORING OR CARPETING?
The Commission discussed various alternatives to cover the Miller Park Pavilion concrete floor. Alternatives included paint, carpeting, carpet squares with rubberized backing, or rubberized flooring material. Paul Sigler made a motion that if the cost of the rubberized flooring is within budget, the Department should have the rubberized flooring installed in the pavilion area only. Seconded by Marianne Dickmann. All aye, motion carried. The Director will bid out the flooring project.
PARKS, RECREATION & PUBLIC HEALTH ARTICLE-INFORMATIONAL
The Director included an informational article in the commission packets on Parks, Recreation & Public Health. Commissioners stated that they could read such articles on a website if we would provide them with the website address instead of including informational handouts in the packets.
