The meeting was called to order at 3:40 p.m. Committee members present were: Ann Lampe, Betty Kopplin and Mike Toman. Also present was Beverly Buretta, Rob Buikema, and Marie Pellett. Melody Schwartz, Rob Porter, Dave Laehn, Mike Marvell, Bill Schaper and Ricky Gabriel were also present for the executive session items relating to the Local 133.
Item 2. Discuss and consider volunteer policy
Alderman Kopplin, seconded by Alderman Toman, made a motion to approve the volunteer policy as presented with the changes suggested by Bev Buretta. All aye; motion carried.
Item 3. Discuss and consider harassment policy
This item was not discussed.
Item 4. Discuss Sections 3.1 - 3.7 of Work Rules and enforcement
The commission reviewed the policy on employee requested work schedule changes. Alderman Toman moved to recommend approval, Alderman Kopplin seconded. All aye; motion carried.
Item 5. Update on Wellness Programs
Chief Hammernik gave a brief summary of the success of the program in the Fire Department.
Item 6. Consider request from Library for Public Services Aide I replacement
The committee reviewed a request from Ross Talis. Alderman Toman moved to recommend approval. Alderman Kopplin seconded. All aye; motion carried.
Item 7. The Committee entered Executive Session at 3:40 p.m. pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes Section 19.85(1)(c ) and (e) for:
a. Hear Local 133 grievance regarding equipment assignment
b. Discuss the impact of new automated sideloader equipment with Local 133
c. Review memo from Police Officers Association as a follow-up to contract bargaining
Item 8. The committee reconvened into Open Session at 5:20 p.m.
a. A memo will be sent to the employee with the Committee's decision.
b. The Personnel Committee will have counter proposal language drafted and submitted to the union.
c. No action was required on the Police Association memo.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
