Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes - Amended

Tuesday, May 7, 2002

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.  Committee members present were Alderman Kopplin, Alderman Lampe and Alderman Bolender.  Also present were Robert Kufrin and Rob Buikema of Davis & Kuelthau.

Item 1.  Roll Call

Item 2.  Approval of minutes

No minutes were approved.

Item 3.  The Committee went into Executive Session pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes Section 19.895(1)(c) and (e) for:

a.   Discussion on Local 133 bargaining strategy

b.   Discussion on processing complaints

c.   Discussion on performance evaluations and compensation

Item 4.  Consider a motion to reconvene into Open Session to take action on any or all Executive Session items

a.   No action was taken.

b.   No action was taken.

c.   A memo will be sent to department heads regarding the 2002 salary ordinance indicating that the committee will recommend a 2.9% increase retroactive to January 1, 2002, no merit increase will take place in July and a percentage contribution toward health insurance premiums will begin for all non-union employees.  The item will likely be on the first Council agenda in June.
