Civil Service Commission

Tuesday, May 7, 2002

 

1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2. Present were Jim Potter, Brad Evans, John Przybyla, Sharon Wiorek, and Marie Pellett. Steve Yttri and Caesar Geiger were in attendance for their items.

 

3. Wiorek, seconded by Przybyla, made a motion to approve the minutes of March 19th. All aye; motion carried.

 

4. The Commission entered Executive Session at 6:02 p.m. to:

a. Review and respond to correspondence

b. Discuss status of Clerk of Court position

c. Discuss status of Computer Specialist recruitment

d. Review applications for Utility Accountant

5. The Commission reconvened into open session at 6:45 p.m.

a. A letter will be sent to Ms. Gamma to inform her that the Commission confirmed her exam scores. Marie will contact Ms. Cortez and inform her that Chairman Potter can meet with her on Tuesday, May 14th at 5:00 p.m. to discuss her concerns. Marie will also attend the meeting.

b. A memo and an e-mail message regarding the Clerk of Court position was read aloud. Jennifer Selby was selected for the position. No further action is necessary.

c. After hearing the concerns raised by Caesar Geiger, the Commission agreed to provide him with the next three names from the existing eligibility list for him to interview.

d. Of the 38 applications received, 27 were deemed to be qualified and will be invited to a test tentatively scheduled for May 21st.

6. Evans, seconded by Wiorek made a motion to adjourn at 6:50 p.m. All aye; motion carried.
