City of Oak Creek

Common Council Report

Meeting Date: May 20, 2008

Item No.:

Recommendation:  That the Council hold Resolution No. 10872-052008 vacating the right-of-way for a portion of an alley in the 3900 block of East Dexter Avenue, until after the required public hearing (4th District).

Background:  A request has been made for the right-of-way for an alley in the 3900 block of East Dexter Avenue to be vacated and the property returned to the owners to the north and south of the right-of-way.  This alley right of way is unimproved, so the vacation will not have a negative impact on surrounding property owners.

This resolution is being introduced this evening.   The public hearing will be held on July 1, 2008.   The Council may act on the resolution at that time.

Fiscal Impact:  This vacation will return the alley right of way to private ownership.  There is a marginal positive fiscal impact on the City by virtue of increases in property value to those owners receiving the vacated right of way.
