Recommendation: That the
Background: Since 2001, the
Milwaukee County Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture (DPRC) and the
City of
The
bike trail segment addressed in this resolution is the former Chicago North
Shore ROW just south of
The
DPRC recently submitted a Wisconsin Statewide Multi-Model Improvement Program
(SMIP) grant application for the project. SMIP funds are awarded on an 80:20 federal:local cost-share basis.
The estimated cost of the project is $1,706,700. Therefore, the 80% federal share would be $1,365,360
with the remaining 20% local share being $341,340. The DPRC is asking the City of
The
Intergovernmental Agreement will be executed contingent on the DPRC being
awarded the SMIP grant.
At
their meeting on
Fiscal Impact: City cost for the bike trail segment will be
$170,670. Currently, the City has
approximately $298,000 in bikeway escrow funds.
