COUNCIL PROCLAMATION NO. 08-03

CONGRATULATIONS
TO
LINDA SODEMANN

WHEREAS, Linda Sodemann, who grew up in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduated from South Milwaukee High School and then continued her education at Marquette University, Milwaukee, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sodemann has been employed for more than 24 years with WE Energies, currently as Principal Representative of Local Affairs, having built and enhanced relationships with community leaders and local government; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her position with WE Energies, Linda Sodemann has been extremely involved in the community, serving as a member of Crimestoppers, the City of Oak Creek Celebrations Commission, Board of Directors for the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce, a member of the South Shore YMCA Grounds and Maintenance Committee, past President of RAMAC – Plant Engineering Council, to name but a few; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sodemann and her husband Phil are long-time residents of the City of Oak Creek and Linda has two stepsons, Daniel and Nicholas, and three grandchildren, Jade, Lily and Mia; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sodemann has other talents of which very few are aware such as learning to ride “Cupcake” the horse western style at the Bolender farm without ever falling off; spending her weekends, often awake until 2:00 in the morning, making quilts when not at her vacation home in northern Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sodemann is being honored at the Civic Dinner Dance on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the 128^th Refueling Wing for her many contributions and countless hours of her time to make the community a better place in which to live.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek do hereby congratulate Linda Sodemann as being truly deserving of this honor at the 128^th Civic Dinner Dance.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Linda Sodemann.
