Recommendation: That the Common Council award the 2008 tree purchase bid (Project No. 08003) to the following two nurseries: Johnson’s Nursery ($27,089 ); and Green Acres Nursery ($528) for a total of $27,617.

Background: The 2008 tree purchase of 197 trees – both new and replacement – was advertised and 6 (six) bids were received. A detailed Bid Proposal Spreadsheet is attached.

Bid award recommendation is based on: ability to meet specifications, stock quality, bid price, in-field inspections prior to bid award and, past experience with nursery.

Fiscal Impact: The $27,617 needed for this tree purchase has been approved in the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department’s 2008 Capital Improvement Budget.
