Recommendation:   That the Common Council authorize the write-off of deferred special assessments for Tax Key #829-9000-001, the City Streets Department Garage Site at 800 W. Puetz Rd, in the amount of $19,106.98.

 

Background:  The Council has approved a reconstruction and renovation project for the Streets Department Garage building, and the project is about to get underway.   The parcel on which the garage is located has deferred assessments for Infrastructure improvements made in the past.   Those deferred assessments, in accordance with their authorizing resolutions, become due and payable upon certain conditions, one of which is the issuance of a building permit.  The assessments against the property reflect installation of watermain, laterals & appurtenances under Projects 94394 and 97199.

Because the City is now building, it is appropriate for the Council to authorize the write-off of the amount of outstanding deferred assessments.

 

 

Fiscal Impact: 

Deferred assessments totaling $19,106.98 would not be received as revenue to the Special Assessment Fund.
