Recommendation:  That the Common Council adopts Resolution No. 10831-021808, accepting a water main easement for the Chicago Road Transmission Water Main project (4th Aldermanic District) (Project 07104).

 

Background:  The easement is necessary for the installation of public transmission water main.  The easement located on the northeast corner of Chicago Road and Ryan Road is necessary to avoid existing underground obstructions in the State Right-of-Way of Chicago Road (S.T.H. 32).

 

The Water and Sewer Utility will fund this project through its capital improvement program.  There will be no special assessments for this project because all of the adjacent properties already have public water available and because this transmission main will have no services attached to it.

 

This project involves installing a 30” connector main in Chicago Road from Ryan Road to American Avenue.  The addition of this main would serve to balance the output at the treatment plant and provide a feed to the 36” east-west main, installed in 2005, from either plant output line independently.  This would provide a high level of protection incase one of the plant outputs were shut down during higher demand times.

 

Fiscal Impact:  The total cost of acquiring the easement is $1,720.00 and will be funded by the Water and Sewer Utility.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A WATER MAIN EASEMENT

 

PROJECT NO. 07104

 

(4TH ALDERMANIC DISTRICT)

 

WHEREAS, the City of Oak Creek desires to install a public transmission water main in Chicago Road from American Avenue to Ryan Road; and

 

WHEREAS, to enable the City to construct and maintain said water main, it will be necessary that a water main easement be obtained from the affected property owner; and

 

WHEREAS, the water main easement has been prepared affecting the following property owner, to wit:

 

R & P Shore Investments, LLC.

9474 S. Chicago Road                                  

Tax Key No. 869-9953                       

 

and said easement is attached hereto.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek that the attached water main easement is hereby approved and accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached easement on behalf of the Common Council of the City of Oak Creek and upon said execution, the City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to record the easement documents in the Office of the Register of Deeds in and for Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.
