Recommendation:  That the Common Council approve the recommendation of the Street Superintendent to purchase one (1) 2008, 5 yard Dump Truck complete with plow equipment and spreader from Lakeside International in the amount of $107,255.00 minus the $10,000.00  trade-in for a total of $97,255.00.

Background:  The Street Department advertised for bids for a current model Dump Truck with plow equipment and spreader. The Street Department received seven (7) bids from three (3) different vendors. The lowest bid meeting the specifications came from Lakeside International in the amount of $107,255.00 minus the $10,000.00 for the trade in of a 1992 International Navistar bringing the total amount to $97,255.00. The fifteen (15) year old truck that is being replaced does have rusting problems on the frame and box.

Fiscal Impact:  $105,000.00 was budgeted in the 2008 CEP fund for the purchase of this dump truck. The awarded bid was $97,255.00 with the trade in producing a savings of $7,745.00. This money will be returned to the CEP fund.
