Common Council Report
Meeting Date: January 15, 2008
Item No.:
Recommendation: That the Common Council approve the recommendation of the Street Superintendent to purchase one (1) 2008 2-yard dump truck from Badger Truck Equipment in total amount of $36,517.33.
Background: The Street Department advertised for bids for a current model Dump Truck. The Department received Five (5) bids from various vendors with Badger Ford being the lowest bid and meeting all of the specification. This truck is mainly used by the concrete crew in the summer and as a chipper truck in the winter. Because of its size part time employees are allowed to drive this truck with out having a CDL driver’s license. We will be trading in a 1992 Ford F-350 with 72,500 miles and a manual transmission. Badger Ford has offered $3,500.00 for the trade in of the1992 truck, that amount will come off of the bid price which would bring the new truck price to the amount of $36,517.33.
