Common Council Report

Recommendation:  That the Common Council approve Ordinance No. 2473, amending Section 2.67 of the Code of Ordinances as ordained and published by authority of the Common Council 1999 establishing the appointments to the Water and Sewer Utility Commission.

Background:  The Mayor recommends the adoption of the above referenced ordinance amendment that would require one member of the Water and Sewer Utility Commission to be a standing member of the Oak Creek Common Council.  The action will provide a communication bridge between the Common Council as the elected policy makers and the Utility Commission appointed to carry out the Council policy. 

The ordinance amendment and subsequent appointment comes at an opportune time.  With the recent resignation of Mr. Ronald R. Callies on August 31, 2007 there is an open position on the Commission that can be filled with an appointment of a Council member.   

Fiscal Impact:  There is no financial impact to this recommendation
