Recommendation:  That the Common Council adopt Resolution No. 10792-091807, seeking a speedy Wisconsin Legislative adoption of the 2007-2009 biennium budget

Background:  On September 10^th Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett presented a resolution to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Council (ICC) for review and approval.  The Resolution urges members of the Wisconsin Legislature to pass a state budget adopting cost of living increases in shared revenue and free of state mandated services without equal state revenue to pay for them. 

The ICC voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and to forward the resolution to the Chairs of both parties on the Legislative Conference Committee.  The ICC also urges each member community to entertain a similar resolution and to forward the resolution to the Conference Committee Chairs.

Fiscal Impact:  There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this resolution.
