NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BEFORE THE OAK CREEK COMMON COUNCIL

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this public hearing is to consider an amendment to Sections: 17.0303 (A-1, Agricultural District) 17.0304 (ER, Equestrian Residential District) 17.0305 (Rs-1, Single Family Residential District) 17.0306 (Rs-2, Single Family Residential District), 17.0307 (Rs-3, Single Family Residential District), and 17.0308 (Rs-4, Single Family Residential District), of the Municipal Code as it relates to the use of metal roof materials for principal residential structures.

Proposal:
The proposed amendment would require that “Roofs of all principal residential buildings be covered with asphalt shingles, wood or shake shingles, tile roofing, or slate roofing.  Metal roof materials are prohibited with the exception of decorative metal roofing that mimics approved roof materials in appearance, color, texture, and function.  Decorative standing seam metal may be used in secondary roof applications.”  

Metal roofs of any type are currently prohibited in residential districts.
