City of Oak Creek

Common Council Report

Meeting Date: July 17, 2007

Item No.:

Recommendation:  To concur with the recommendation of the Traffic and Safety Commission and approve the request to remove the existing Dead End and No Outlet signs on W. Grays Lane and install a Dead End sign on each side of the street facing west at 2520 W. Grays Lane.

Background:  The Traffic and Safety Commission discussed this issue at the June 13, 2007 meeting.  The residents felt that the sign location of the existing Dead End and No Outlet signs were not getting the drivers’ attention and several vehicles turn around at the dead end.  The Commission agreed and approved the installation of two Dead End signs at 2520 W. Grays Lane.  Also, residents were concerned with speed on the road.

Fiscal Impact:  There are sufficient funds available in the Street Department operating budget to accommodate this installation.
