Recommendation: That the Common Council approve the bid proposal from Reese Recreation for the purchase and delivery of four steel hexagon shelters in the amount of $36,130 (Project No. 07029), (1st & 2nd Aldermanic Districts).
Background: This project was approved during the 2007 budget process. The project entails construction of four all steel hexagon shelters, one each at Camelot, Chapel Hills, Manor Marquette and Willow Heights Neighborhood Parks. The shelters are 28 ft. (point-to-point) constructed over a concrete slab. Streets and Parks personnel will perform the excavation, concrete installation, assembly and restoration.
The open-air shelters are proposed for installation based on the adopted Park Impact Fee Report and park site plans that lists specific facilities recommended for development in neighborhood parks.
Reese Recreation was the lowest, responsive bidder meeting all of the specifications. The following three bids were received:
