City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: June 19, 2007
Item No.:
Recommendation: That the Common Council formally request South East Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) to update their mapping of environmental corridors in the City of Oak Creek from their 1994 maps.
Background: Representatives from SEWRPC made a presentation on environmental corridors at the June 5 Common Council meeting.
There are many reasons why land is included in an environmental corridor. One of the reasons is the land resides within the 100 year flood plain. The City adopted revised flood plains in 2005 as a product of its Storm Water Study. Updating the environmental corridor mapping would adjust some of the boundaries to coincide with the floodplain boundaries. This request will result in revised maps which will be presented to the general public for comment prior to adoption.
Fiscal Impact: There is no cost to the City of Oak Creek for this SEWRPC service.
