City of Oak Creek

Common Council Report

Meeting Date: June 19, 2007

Item No.:

Recommendation:  That the Council adopt Ordinance No. 2461, which would repeal Section 17.0706(j) of the Municipal Code relating to the use of portable signs in business and manufacturing zoning districts.

Background:  The Common Council has recently revised the language of the Municipal Code relating to temporary signs.  When updating the code, staff identified an incorrectly referenced section of code. Ordinance 2453, incorrectly repealed Section 17.0705(j) (portable signs) because it is now addressed in the new Temporary Sign Ordinance.  However, this was an error, Section 17.0705(j) does not exist. The section that references portable signs that should have been repealed is Section 17.0706(j).  In order to correct this, a new ordinance repealing Section 17.0706(j) will need to be approved by the Common Council.  No other changes to the content of the ordinance have been made

Fiscal Impact:  There would not be any fiscal impact associated with the proposed amendment.
