Recommendation: That the Common Council adopt Ordinance No. 2456, creating Section 8.10 (n) of the Municipal Code relating to compliance with ordinances and payment of taxes, assessments and claims.
Background: On March 20, 2007, the Common Council approved the Health Department entering into an Agreement with the Department of Health and Family Services and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection in order to issue licenses for restaurants, lodging, campgrounds, recreational, tattoo/body piercing establishments, and retail food establishments. The addition of this language in Section 8.10 assures that any licenses withheld for payment of municipal taxes, assessments or other fees are being withheld consistently (as with liquor licenses, Section 7.03 of the Municipal Code).
