City of Oak Creek

Common Council Report

Meeting Date: 04/02/07

Item No.:

Recommendation:  That the Common Council approve the Intergovernmental Agreement to Provide Sanitarian Services Between the Cities of Oak Creek and Franklin.

Background:  The City of Oak Creek recently hired David Cammilleri as the City Sanitarian.  Prior to his hire date with Oak Creek, David was working with the City of Franklin to provide Sanitarian services on a part-time basis.  He terminated his relationship with Franklin upon accepting the Oak Creek position.

The City of Franklin is seeking David’s services as a contract employee through the City of Oak Creek until such time as they secure a new part-time employee.

The Intergovernmental Agreement attached has been reviewed by legal counsel for the City of Oak Creek and Franklin and is approved as to form.

The City of Franklin will entertain the issue during their April 2, 2007 Common Council meeting.

The hours offered to the City of Franklin will be determined by mutual agreement between the Public Health Directors in each community.  The City of Oak Creek will reserve the right to recall the Sanitarian in the event of an emergency.

Fiscal Impact:  Allowing the contract arrangement will produce $1,600 in monthly revenue plus overtime for evening and weekend commitments.
