Recommendation: That the Common Council consider a motion to award the 2007 Road Improvements unit price contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Capitol Pavers, Inc., at an estimated cost of $423,241.10 (Project Nos. 07015 through 07020).
Background: The Common Council adopted Resolution No. 10734-021907, approving the project on February 19, 2007. The Engineering Department prepared the plans and specifications for the project and the work was advertised. This is a unit price contract. Thus, the bids were evaluated based on estimated quantities.

Fiscal Impact: Currently, there is approximately $67,000 in the “Unspecified Streets” control account left over from past paving projects, and $750,000 budgeted for in the 2007 CIP, for a total of about $817,000 available for this year’s paving program.
