City of Oak Creek

Common Council Report

Meeting Date: April 17, 2007

Item No.:

Recommendation:  That the Council hold Resolution No. 10749-041707 vacating the West Lois Lane right-of-way, until after the required public hearing (6th District).

Background:  A request has been made for the right-of-way for West Lois Lane to be vacated and the property returned to the property owners to the north and south of the right-of-way.  Lois Lane, in this location west of Interstate 94, although platted, was never constructed.  The subdivision plat for these properties, which are zoned manufacturing, was previously vacated by the City.

This resolution is being introduced this evening.   The public hearing will be held on June 5, 2007.  The Council may act on the resolution at that time.

The Plan Commission has reviewed this request, and has recommended that this right of way be vacated after the public hearing.

Fiscal Impact:  This vacation will return the right of way to private ownership, which will allow for the development of these properties, which are also part of Tax Incremental District No. 7.
