Background: William W. Wilson served the City of Oak Creek Police Department for 29 years and 5 months, and his career dictates that he be honored with this Resolution of Appreciation.

RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
William W. Wilson
WHEREAS, William W. Wilson began his employment with the City of Oak Creek on September 26, 1977, as a full-time Police Officer; and
WHEREAS, William W. Wilson has been a valuable employee during his years of dedicated service with the Oak Creek Police Department, always striving to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of the City; and
WHEREAS, during his twenty-nine years and five months of service, William W. Wilson has been an integral part of the Police Department, serving as a patrol officer early in his career, then rising through the ranks as a Sergeant, Lieutenant of Detectives and Administration, and ending his career as the Captain of Operations of the Police Department, and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as the Operations Captain, William W. Wilson was in charge of all patrol officers, was responsible for the training needs of all Department staff, was in charge of maintaining the Police Department fleet, and was responsible for the development of dozens of innovative policies and procedures which will ensure that he will forever leave his mark on the agency, and
WHEREAS, during William W. Wilson’s career with the Oak Creek Police Department, he attended and graduated from both Mount Senario College and the FBI National Academy. He utilized the knowledge and training he received throughout his career and willingly shared it with all members of the Oak Creek Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, William W. Wilson has been a model for all under his command, being well known for his work ethic, his dedication to the department, and his leadership, and
WHEREAS, William W. Wilson, because of his keen business sense and vision, was assigned as the principle representative for the Police Department during the design and construction of the new Police facility. His involvement in that project was a key factor in producing a building admired statewide and why it is referenced as a model for others to follow, and
WHEREAS, William W. Wilson is retiring from the Oak Creek Police Department force after completing 29 years and 5 months of full-time service to the City of Oak Creek.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek, for and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Oak Creek, that sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to William W. Wilson for his years of professional, dedicated and faithful service to the City of Oak Creek and the Police Department, that the best wishes for good health and happiness be extended to William W. Wilson and his family for future years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to William W. Wilson.
