CONGRATULATIONS TO

STELLA LEMANCZYK

ON HER 100^TH BIRTHDAY

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK was born November 22, 1907 in New York City, New York; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK moved to Poland with her mother when she was three years old, along with one younger brother and one on the way, having been sent there by her father and leaving her mother to raise the family alone; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK returned to the United States at Detroit, Michigan with her family when she was 20 years old; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK was first married in Milwaukee and is the proud mother of five children, four from her first marriage, Teddy, who passed away at the age of 5; Richard, now 78; Jenny, now 75; Delores, now 73; and one child from her second marriage, Carleen, who passed away at the age of 56; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK raised all of her children on her own after her second marriage ended; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK, has succeeded through much adversity in her life; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK, at age 85, had successful open heart surgery and to this day lives on her own, goes shopping, and still drives to South Milwaukee to visit her daughter Delores; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK loves to read, watch TV, loves poppy seed cake, and especially enjoys sewing beautiful clothing with intricate lace detail; and

WHEREAS, STELLA LEMANCZYK will be 100 years “young” on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, 2007, and will celebrate her special day with a birthday party in her honor on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., at her residence at the Lake Forest Apartments in Oak Creek.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby wish STELLA LEMANCZYK a Happy 100^th Birthday, and wish her health, happiness, and many more.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy of this proclamation to STELLA LEMANCZYK.
